COSTA MANINGI

28 Devonshire Avenue, Bulwer, Berea, South Africa
This building on a narrow, inclined urban lot was designed to accommodate a professional consultancy. The entrance under the projecting segment-vaulted roof on cantilevering beams boldly marks the street, from which office space is accessed half a level up or down, with some on the lower level given over to parking under the building. Despite the strong yet simple concept, the considerable building costs involved lead to its name, which is derived from both English and Zulu.
